The Process

The first impression is the most important! The first time you meet our estimator, we make sure to prepare a free quote! This meeting rarely lasts more than 1 hour during which all information from A to Z will be explained to you and this in the comfort of your home! Our offer is a turnkey solution, which means that for us, customer satisfaction is much more appreciated when the entire project has been handled by Amétis Peinture and no issues remain present at the end of the work. We take care of all: painting, materials, products and labour! The only thing we ask is to include in your agenda a suitable time for the execution of your project.

From the moment you have selected a date on our team’s production agenda, our first priority is to minimize the impact this project will have on your quality of life during the project’s execution timeline. A call will precede the start of the work to coordinate and plan the opening of the site:

1. Confirm the colour and details of the paint
2. Ask to remove all valuables, fragile objects, paintings and shelves from the area you are painting
3. Answer any questions you may have about your painting project
4. An email that confirms everything you will need for an incredible day of painting

The Amétis painting day has arrived! Before starting, our painters will inspect the project to identify the areas that need more preparation. This is a very short step that allows us to better plan your project because we make sure we meet your deadlines to the letter! In stages, the painters will proceed as follows:

We ask you to close all windows and storm windows.

1. Before applying any paint, we will protect all plants, furniture and grills with plastic canvas or tarpaulins.
2. We will scrape and sand the surface to remove all the old paint.
3. We will seal all window frames, caulk holes, cracks and voids with caulking that has a life span of more than 15 years.
4. We will evaluate the exterior for any rotten or broken wood that may need to be replaced. If necessary, we will take care of the repairs.
5. The windows will be scraped, glazed, primed and painted. All trim, columns or soffits will also be prepared for painting.
6. We will locate all sanded surfaces again.

7. We will apply paint in most areas with a brush or roller.
8. We will remove storm windows so that the exterior of the windows can be painted. We will apply a top coat on all finishing work, including windows, doors and soffits.
9. We will carry out our own final inspection of the surface condition of the house and make all the necessary final adjustments.
10. A last guided tour will be made in your presence to ensure complete satisfaction.

Your satisfaction is source to our motivation and we make sure to put all the necessary means to achieve the best result and thus exceeding your expectations!

PAINTING / STAINING PROJECTS OF YOUR FENCE

PAINTING / STAINING PROJECTS OF YOUR FENCE

A beautiful fence gives your property the cachet it deserves while offering you a sense of privacy and security! A rejuvenation of your house or a change of color by one of our professional painters will instantly refresh the appearance of your home. Regardless of the material of your fence, the appearance you want to achieve or the scope of your project, our painters will make your project an easy and stress-free experience.

In addition to pure aesthetics, there is an important reason why you should consider painting or staining your fence. When you apply a finish such as paint or stain, this product application helps to protect the wood from the elements. Because water and intense sunlight from UV rays will quickly damage the wood of your fence. Untreated wood will decompose much faster than treated wood, and some types of wood even tarnish and become grey discolored.
Our fence painting and dyeing services cover a complete range of fence materials, including the following services:

1. Wooden fence
2. Aluminium fence
3. Vinyl fence
4. Chain link fence
5. PVC fence
6. Wrought iron fence

We are committed in using only high quality paints, stains and finishes for any fence painting or dyeing project.

PAINTING / STAINING PROJECT OF YOUR TERRACE

PAINTING / STAINING PROJECT OF YOUR TERRACE

Your terrace is an extension of your house. It is where you spend your summer evenings relaxing with your family and your weekends sharing barbecue with friends and neighbours.

A well-maintained terrace and patio can improve the impression your family, friends and potential buyers have of your house. A new coat of paint or stain can make all the difference, offering instant appeal without requiring a complete overhaul of the yard.

In addition, you want your deck material to last as long as possible and to withstand summer storms and winter elements. Constant exposure to UV radiation and rain can cause discoloration, cracking, and deformation of neglected wood. Not only is a well maintained terrace more aesthetic, it also lasts longer.

The best protection for your terrace is to apply a regular coat of stain. Achieving a perfect result can sometimes require a lot of effort and preparation time. That said, all these efforts are most rewarding for you because your terrace will be unique and will offer a unique look!

The stain penetrates deeply into the wood, filling voids that would otherwise absorb moisture. If moisture enters, the wood can twist, deform and crack. It reacts to moisture. In your research for the right stain colour for your project, you should consider that a light stain will bring out the grain of the wood, while a solid stain will reveal very little of the natural colour of the wood.

There are four main categories of sealants and dyes:

1. Light dyeing often offers basic protection, including waterproofing, minimal protection against UV rays and, sometimes, prevention of mold growth.

2. Tinted light dye is very similar to a transparent sealant, except that a pigment or an additional color is added. This provides additional protection against sun damage, which further delays the greying of the wood.

3. Semi-transparent stains contain additional pigments that give a subtle colour while showing the grain and texture of the wood. They offer additional protection against damage caused by water and sunlight for up to three or four years.

4. The opaque stain provides the greatest amount of pigment or colour, and therefore offering the best protection for wood. However, it also hides the wood grain, allowing only part of the texture to pass through. Due to its excellent camouflage properties, solid-coloured stain is often used for wood that has been severely weathered, covering damaged wood fibres.

When painting on wallpaper is the best option

When painting on wallpaper is the best option

It is generally preferable to remove the paper before painting but there are some cases where it may be advantageous to paint on wallpaper. First and foremost, drywall or plaster walls under the paper will remain intact.

If you decide to go ahead and paint your wallpaper, it is important to well prepare your walls to get the best possible results.

We will first remove and replace the damaged sections and add adhesive to the detached pieces to minimize the risk of paper falling off.

Then, we will cover the highly textured paper with a thin layer of joint paste. This material will help smoothing the surface so that the texture does not show through the paint. We will apply an oil-based primer coat over the entire wall surface before painting. This helps to seal the adhesive in the paper away from the moisture of the paint.

Moisture in the paint can often loosen the glue from the wallpaper, causing bubbles or flaking. After all these options, your wall will be ready to be painted!
